Raid Server
a Raid Server is a high performance extended storage network device that provides shared file systems to groups of client workstations and servers. It can include as few as 3 or as many as 31 hard disk drives per typical chassis, interconnected by copper or fiber optic connections to a RAID controller, with appropriate server software to provide shared storage with various options. RAID stands for Random Array of Inexpensive Disks.
